What you think these young Nigerians are
doing? Attending a political rally? Attempting to attend a big musical
gig? Or trying to have a glimpse of president Obasanjo’s convoy?
Neither! These are applicants scrambling to write an Employment Test,
conducted some weeks back by
INTERCONTINENTAL BANK Plc
at Fototek Plaza, Opebi in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
Sadly, it was reported that, Police had to
disperse the mammoth crowd with teargas! These images are very disturbing
indeed. Though, ' it is a known fact that unemployment levels in Nigeria
are extremely high. This is one of the biggest failures of president
obasanjo and indeed previous Nigerian governments, especially from early
90’s.
On the other hand, does intercontinental bank made
adequate arrangement for these applicants? Well, the bank may be unaware
of number of intending applicants? But why have the bank not scheduled the
assessments test in lots or batches to prevent this sort of overcrowding
and threats to the lives of young Nigeria who are the future leaders of
Nigeria ? Unmistakably this is a fault that Intercontinental Bank have to
be responsible for. But from top to bottom the government is to blame for
not invigorating the economy with job opportunities,
It is sickening to see in
the 21st centaury this is the image of today’s Nigeria! What
do we need? Prayers? ...... We dearly need good LEADERS who will eliminate
these kinds of disturbing images
