THE RECENT UNFORTUNATE OUT BURST OF MALLAM EL-RUFAI MINISTER OF FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY

It beats ones imagination that the FCT Minister, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai has lost touch with moral rectitude, and would take time to reel out weird and fallacious statements full of misrepresented and disjointed facts against the person of the Vice President, Atiku Abubakar during an interview on a national television recently.

        Be that as it may, we and the majority of Nigerians who are genuine adherents of democratic norms and values expect nothing less from the administration of a democratic tyrant and vindictive President, who has succeeded in heating up and destabilizing the polity simply because he wants his will to be done. And we ask; when has man become God that man’s will must be done?

      President Obasanjo has metamorphosed into a demy- god that his foot soldiers now lord themselves over everybody in the country, and worst still, go about insulting and making pejorative statements against the office and person of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and every other person loyal to him.

      The likes of  flippant Femi Fani Kayode, tele-guided media assist-ant Remi Oyo, Frank Nweke jnr who has no road leading to his home town, arm chair critic Osuntokun etc have at several occasions made witty and provocative remarks on the office of the Vice President without drawing the President’s condemnation.

      Now, Mallam El Rufai has mortgaged his conscience and decided to join issues with those of us in the Vice President’s camp in other to appease his god and as a cover up to his many sins in the Federal Capital territory.

      El Rufai as far as the OBJ- Atiku political feud is concerned has been playing hide and seek role but his recent outpour of mischievous allegations has proven that he is grandstanding.  The fact remains that we had expected nothing less than the orchestrated media briefing by Mallam El-Rufai  after participating actively in the Ojo’ s Panel purposely set – up to embarrass the person of Atiku Abubakar , it sounds incredible  to us for the same El-Rufai to come around to inform Nigerians that it was out of his care for Vice President Atiku Abubakar  who made him what ever he think that he is today that warranted him hosting such a meeting that will broker peace  with a determined President who is ready to do any thing in order to destroy the political future of  Atiku Abubakar who  has done him no harm . This is demonstration of those deceitful acts and plots well known to the President and his acolytes and we are not deceived

       We therefore dare El Rufai to substantiate his baseless allegations that the Vice President’s camp made a move to manufacture evidence to generate forgeries just to smear the President and other people totally unrelated to the PDTF issue. El Rufai should not be jittery. Having attacked the Vice President from such a provocative stance with cocktail of lies and conjectures, we have no other choice than to strip El Rufai naked before Nigerians as those who live in glass houses do not throw stones.

          Making complimentary remarks to soothe Nuhu Ribadu’s  troubled nerves will in no way save El Rufai from an impending calamity when the Senate’s public hearing on the PDTF scandal commences, neither will eulogizing Obasanjo save him.

         However, one thing irks those of us in the Vice President’s camp and Nigerians. And that is the fact that El Rufai while eulogizing President Olusegun Obasanjo as a man of destiny failed to praise him for leveling Odi and Zaki Ibiam aftermath of military invasion of both towns. El Rufai also failed to thumb up President Obasanjo for being the master mind behind the subversion of the ruling party’s constitution, which provided for an elective congress rather than an infamous and undemocratic affirmation process during the PDP’s congresses held last year and all the generated political tension in the country today where the constitution of the country is constantly abused in order to achieve a personal ambition.

       El Rufai equally failed to call to mind that Obasanjo’s administration has sacked a whooping 33,000 Federal Civil Servants into the already saturated labour market without creating any job for almost eight years now.

Or does it mean that El-Rufai is so blind folded as to not knowing that his demy- god is the first democratically elected president who toed the macadamized path of dictators and tyrants alike to amend the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to pave way for an incongruous and unconstitutional third term save for Nigerians, the Senate and Atiku?

El-Rufai should know that his history book of “Tale of Woes” on Obasanjo is not complete without containing the many sins of Mr. President against the rule of law, subversion of the constitution, witch hunting of political foes with security agents, EFCC and so on and so forth.

     By referring to Mr. President as a man of destiny with his embarrassing utterances, El-Rufai has lured himself to perdition before Nigerians, and therefore should resign his office.

         As an uncouth persona and having turned himself as Obasanjo’s Teddy Bear, El-Rufai thinks Nigerians have forgotten his shady deals with one criminal in the name of Jimmy Lawal, based in the United States . We want Nigerians to know that this rogue was recruited by El-Rufai through whom he established a consultancy service where 10% of total contributions of Federal Government Civil Servants running into billions of Naira were paid.

       After milking dry the public fund through this illegal, unpatriotic and corrupt act, Jimmy Lawal changed based to Bangladesh were he has rerouted the siphoned fund into an unknown account and destination.

       And the question is; even when the EFCC drag net caught up with Jimmy Lawal and he implicated El-Rufai as the brain behind the theft, what did Nuhu Ribadu his operatives do to bring El-Rufai to book? Nothing. This explains why Ribadu is now El-Rufai’s soul mate.

             We want to assure El-Rufai that he will not go unpunished when the chips are down. He has continued to terrorize and dehumanize Nigerians living in the FCT through the revocation of their certificates of occupancy and using some agents as buyers to acquire these lands and in the process amassing wealth running into millions of Naira.

Nigerians should not forget in a hurry the controversies surrounding PENTASCOPE and the aborted selling of NITEL where El-Rufai played a key role.

          For the benefit of doubt, El-Rufai’s immoral act will be widely publicized in the country at a later time. Nobody has forgotten his ten million naira largesse to a corps member girlfriend. El Rufai should know that his sins are too much.

     Therefore we are calling on El-Rufai not to fidget as Nigerians will know of his true character when he is called upon to testify in the up coming Senate hearing on the PTDF scandal.

      In conclusion, we will like to assure El- Rufai and his colleagues that it is only matter of time when they will be treated like others that have faithfully served this unfortunate administration. If people like Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State could be harassed, intimidated impeached without recourse  and respect to the rule of law and arrested like a common criminal today by those who by few months appointed him to oversee the selection of the presidential candidate of PDP, If Chief Alex Ekweme , Solomon Lar, Audu Ogbeh, Abubkar Rimi, and  of course the indefatigable Ngozi Iweala, Late Sunday Afolabi and master fix it right Tony Aneninh are today treated  shabbily by the President Obasanjo’s administration then little fry like El-Rufai should only wait for the appropriate time to be shoved away.

     We will like to appeal to Nigerians to remain calm. Prayerful and most importantly be ready   to defend democratic principles and rule of law being bastardized by some opportunists that operate as our Leaders. We commend Nigerians for identifying the lies associated with all the fabricated plots against Vice President Atiku Abubakar and to be ready to vote him inti power at the appropriate time.
