THE GOOD AND THE EVIL CLEARLY EXPOUNDED

By BABANDI GUMEL <bagumel@btinternet.com> Aug 29, 2006

Lo! This Quran guides unto that which is straight and gives tidings unto the believers who do good works that theirs will be a great reward. And for those who do not believe in the Hereafter for them We have prepared a painful doom. Man prays for evil as he prays for good; for man was ever hasty.

From time immemorial good and evil had been expounded and human being knew this thing in the olden days and he knows it now so there is no question of him saying he does not know. Every one can differentiate between good and evil those who sincerely follow God will definitely do good as mentioned in the above Verse of the Quran while unfortunately those who don’t believe in the Hereafter although everyone is certain that he is going to die will meet their doom. So human being is by nature very weak ignorant and due to arrogance he thinks he knows everything thinking that he even knows better than his Creator. This is why due to such arrogance especially when somebody is intosticated by power or wealth he thinks he owns everything as if he is the giver of life and death like Pharaoh or Nimrod. Due to such arrogance of humanity this is why  Allah in His infinite wisdom used to send Prophets to guide this misguided human to the right path .Alas those who normally follow the guidance were simple folk and the intellectuals normally used to follow their own desires instead following the true guidance given by the Prophets . All the Prophets mentioned in the revealed Books such Torah, Psalm the Injeel and the Quran showed the people the right guidance and no body can change that guidance. As time goes unfortunately people for their selfish  ends try to temper with the true teachings and guidance of those guided Prophets such as  Noah, Abraham, Moses Jesus and Muhammad to mention a few all Peace be Upon them .As every one wanted to follow his or her own desire instead of following the true teachings of the Prophets this is why misguidance started spreading everywhere. As time goes more misguidance spread and people started believing the misguidance to be guidance so good started to become evil and evil dominating became good  vice versa and people started believing in that. For example the institution of marriage is replaced by adultery and freedom of the so called modern feminists groups spreading  adultery and illicit sexual temptations and free mixing in the society became the norm. Adultery was accepted and gradually marriage life started to be old fashioned  drinking became the norm and the ones who do not drink would be dubbed as fundamentalists and outdated even among the so called Muslim Society. Islam came to rectify all these evils during the time of the Prophet and would continue to show guidance to all those who sincerely wish to get guidance and preparing to meet  their Lord  the only Creator from the beginning to the end who has no partner whether in form of  son or brother uncle or relative neither is He the father of any of his Creation be him human being Angel Jinn or animal nor is He the husband of any woman in form of wife. There is no God save Him (Allah) the Eternal neither slumber nor does sleep overtake Him. Unto Him belongs whatsoever is in the Heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedes with Him except by His leave. He knows  that which is in front of them and that which is behind them while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He wills. His  throne includes the Heavens and earth and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime the Tremendous. Allahu Akbar what a beautiful verse described beautiful by the One with most beautiful names Allah (S.W.T).

So this is why in the next Verse after this Verse called Ayatal Kursi or Verse of the Throne which described the sublime qualities of Allah in a beautiful manner continued with there is no compulsion in Religion so truth is clear from falsehood. Similarly everyone knows what is right and what is wrong as mentioned good and evil had been clearly expounded so is up the people to discern .So he who rejects false deities and believes in Allah  has grasped a firm handhold which will never break and Allah is Hearer and  Knower. Imagine the evil we see daily spreading all over the world and people are so misguided yet thinking they are fully guided but unfortunately they are the kind of people whose effort has gone astray in this life of the World and yet they reckon that they do good work. Alas  they disbelieve in the revelations of their Lord and meeting with Him. For this therefore Allah says their works are vain and on the Day of Judgement We assign no weight to them. So the Quran has clearly expounded everything good and evil making it clear for us to  follow if you believe and follow it with good work you will be rewarded. For every man’s augury would be fastened on his neck and nobody would take the responsibility of the other .If you do well you see good similarly evil begets evil. On the Day of Judgement Allah with his infinite wisdom would bring out this man’s augury (all the information concerning his/her activities in the World good or bad) in form of book (in form of microchips like the computer) spread wide open. It will then be said to him  “Read your book your Soul suffices as reckoned against you this Day. Therefore Allah says whoever goes right it is only for his own soul that he goes right, and whosoever errs, errs only to its hurt. Clearly  He completed the statement by saying No laden soul can bear any others load meaning everyone will only carry his own burden. So exactly like the law of this world if somebody steals something he is going to be responsible for the same burden it will not be shouldered by his relative son or father, similarly is the case of the Hereafter no Prophet or saint would carry the burden of our sins nor shall we carry the burden of others. Every one will carry his own load. If we do good  we see good evil with evil as clearly expounded so is up to us to chose before it is too late when our eyes close and we prepare to go to our destination which every one is heading that is the life Hereafter. On that journey you are not expected to carry anything which you amassed  whether lawful or unlawful defending on your choice all you would carry is your deeds good or evil. Therefore whoso does good an atoms weight will see it and who so does ill an atoms weight will see it then. So the choice is ours we know what is good and what is bad. Good leads to Paradise and evil leads to hell even in this World for example a person can have plenty of wealth but as we know it does not give satisfaction or tranquillity although he has such enormous wealth acquired unlawfully yet he is not happy he wants take his live. So it means wealth or power does not give respect but only righteousness and piety gives a person degree of respect .As we can see from everyday life you may have everything but no body respects you. Why is it although you acquired the things but because they were unlawful they would never bring you respect or peace of mind.  So is up it individual to follow and become successful in both the worlds Duniyah (World) and the Akhirah (Hereafter) by doing good or evil. The enjoyment of this world compared to the Hereafter as mentioned by the Prophet is like some one dipping a needle in the ocean and takes it out how much water does it decrease from the ocean. So Virtually bragging with the little worldly possession we have is nothing but sheer arrogance and ignorance which had been misguiding us until we arrive in the grave which would be too late. So an intelligent person as clearly stated by the Prophet is he who controls himself and then makes preparation for the Hereafter and a foolish one is he who follows his desires (wishful thinking) and hopes good from Allah (without doing any good deeds ending in Hell Fire sign of total failure.).So it is left to us to follow the good or evil which have been clearly expounded in the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad who is the last of the chains of Prophets sent by Allah for the guidance of mankind a role model to every one to follow. He is the best model for the whole mankind from King to pauper a judge to accused, neighbour to good human being, father and son or daughter and her mum, preacher and warrior from recruit to general in the army, commander and the commanded, a Doctor with his patient, believer and disbeliever  married or unmarried ,husband and wife pious and impious all making effort to rectify their lives for the benefit of the Hereafter called the Akhirah. So what Allah has made lawful in the Quran if you analyse them carefully you will find they are beneficial for the mankind, similarly what He has made unlawful such as drinking, gambling, usury fornication and adultery, killing without a just cause, backbiting and slandering others, usurping and acquiring illegal wealth called Haram, and many more others mentioned are all harmful to the society in particular and mankind in general. Therefore following desires as in the so called advanced countries with the intension to gain peace is bringing nothing but misery despite their material progress and advancement. They try to gain peace with these materials through the so called freedom making animals to have more rights than human being  gay than a married couple is bringing nothing but disaster to the whole humanity and Allah will not change the condition of people until they change what is in their hearts. He coined a beautiful similitude: a town-ship that dwelt secure and well content its provision coming to it in abundance from every side but it disbelieved in Allah’s favours so Allah made it experience the garb of dearth and fear of what it used to do. Therefore  if we disbelieve in the good and bounties given by Allah we would be experiencing such problems like insecurity hunger and many more malaise and evil things that would be bedevilling our society. So we must change and accept the right otherwise if we continue to maintain the wrong attitude with the intention of maintaining the status quo we will continue to be regretting for the rest of our lives till death with no return. So the ball is in our courts left to us to follow good or evil no one will force the other only our conscience will tell us to do good or evil. May Allah give us the tawfiq (ability) all to follow the right guidance. Amen
